2005年、Ian MacDougallを中心に結成されたバンド。ヴァイオリン、バンジョー、アコーディオン、トランペット、ギター、ベース、ドラムなどの多人数編成。これだけ聞くとArcade Fireなどのバンドを思い浮かべてしまいますがヴォーカルのIan MacDougallが兎に角むさ苦しい（褒めてます）声なのでその周辺のバンドとは受ける印象がまた違います。また音楽的にもより民族的な音楽性なので新鮮味があります。何はともあれご清聴をば！

10月16日に全米公開を控えたSpike Jonze監督の最新作「Where the Wild Things Are（邦題：かいじゅうたちのいるところ）」のサウンドトラックを、Yeah Yeah YeahsのKaren O嬢が制作。その詳細が発表されました。

「Karen O and the Kids」という名義で制作された本作にはアマチュアの子どもたちも多く参加しており、ぬくもりのある作品に仕上がっているとか。さらにゲスト陣がまたすごい！ざっと名前を挙げると……
