Baronessの最新アルバム『Blue Record』より、“A Horse Called Golgotha”のPVが公開されました。リードトラックとして先行配信されていた楽曲です。

「ゴルゴタと呼ばれし馬」という意味深なタイトルが付けられていますが、PVではスキンヘッドのマッチョが登場。キリスト教関連の教養が全然ないので意味はよく分かりませんが、5分強という決して長くはない時間に超高密度で圧縮されたとてつもないリフワークとあいまって、その気迫はひしひしと伝わってきます。前作『Red Album』に収録されていた“Wanderlust”のPVに引き続き、Joshua Greenという方が監督しているそうです！

ちなみに『Blue Record』は、発売から1週間で4,700枚を売り上げたそうで、この手のバンドとしてはかなり好調なチャートアクションを記録しています。メタルに厳しいPitchforkでも、まさかの8.5ポイント！来年3月に行われるISISとのジョイント来日ツアーも、いよいよ11月28日よりチケット発売開始。一応Baronessはゲスト扱いになっていますが、アルバムを聴いた限りでは食うか食われるかのとてつもなくスリリングな一戦になるかと。お見逃しなくー。

相変わらずものすごい密度！ルバム全体でどのようなを見せてくれるのか楽しみです。音楽性は全然違えど、ToolやMastodonやISISなどに匹敵するほどのディープなサウンドを求めている方は要チェック。ライヴも精力的にこなしているようで、Clutchのレコ発ツアーにひっついていっしょにまわってたみたいです。うらやましすぎる！
